The much await. annual event, Africa Fashion
Week Nigeria 2015, which took place on 23rd May at EKO hotel, Lagos, Nigeria
ushered in an impressive list of emerging and
new fashion brands.
Fashion brands including Owems, On-ru Couture,
Saziis, OmaEhime, MyOlaedo, Ady By Linda , African
Things, Eminence 1129 , Colours of C.U.E , Qozie
Wears, Mbana house of styles, House of Panbal .
Alabi Couture & Ruth 1470 , De Laurels Outfit ,
Hemera, Souza, Buchiver , Anuba Couture, Zeeno
Dee, Morin O , Grazee Stitches, Bisola Daramola,
Adaora 's and more showcased their best designs to
fashion lovers.
With Denrele Edun as the spokesman/red
carpet host and Mr Nigeria; Emmanuel Ikubese as
host and of the 2015 edition of the fashion event.
The handsome actor and Mr World 2014 first runner
up; Ikubese joined TV personality; Edun for a
fashion show set to be the biggest showcase with at least sixty designers lined up to showcase at the
event.
African Fashion Week Nigeria aims to display the creativity and
originality of African designers to the rest of the
world, thereby creating a platform for African
fashion designers to be appreciated and celebrated.
With the theme of the year being “Showcasing our
Cultural Heritage through Fashion” This unique three day event which is organized on
an annual basis and will eventually be a road show
across nigeria and africa is divided into different aspect..

Uti Nwachukwu opened the show in a traditional
'agbada' where I.K Ogbonna followed.

Notable trends on the runway included crop tops,
thigh high slits, delicate cut outs, frills, tassels,h
sequin, sheer and more. The upcoming brands
showcased breathtaking designs.
Africa Fashion Week Nigeria began Saturday in
Lagos, and already there are clutches of runway
clothes for which I’d gladly sell and discharge mine for. Lovely prints were key, as some
designers played with new ways of incorporating
ankara and jacquard, all in super-modern
silhouettes and bright color saturation.

she was pictured wearing a long sleeve crop top
with a mermaid skirt by Tiannah Styling for the
event at Eko Hotel.

close on 24th May 2015 with a gala hosted by
Mercy Ajisafe and Emmanuel Ikubese where
selected people from various fields of life were
given awards for being outstanding.
Singer Yemi Alade won the ‘ Most Stylish Female
Celebrity’ award while Kunbi Oyelese of April by
Kunbi went home with ‘Fashion entrepreneur of the
year’ .
Antonia Soares of Complete Fashion won ‘Emerging
Fashion Journalist of the year’, Master won ‘Male
Designer of the year’, Damilola Oke won ‘Stylist of
the year’.
Uti Nwachukwu and I.K Ogbonna got audience
cheering and applauding as they made special
appearances at the 2015 Africa Fashion Week
Nigeria .
Both revered models came out to showcase pieces
from menswear brand; Big Ben Kilani. Unarguably
the most sought after models in Nigeria, the duo
stood out on the runway as they wore pieces
carved to their bodies.
The show came to a dramatic climax when they both closed the show
in macs and a display with umbrellas before they
were joined by the brand's creative director; Ben
Kilani.
